Message updates, Facebook posts and things like Instagram stories all make you feel this constant urge to check, re-check, and check again. Why? Because you never want to miss anything from the perfect lives of everyone you know and follow. But is this the way real life actually is?
My professional work as a trained and certified Counsellor has shown me the negative impact of isolation, ongoing work issues, relationship conflict and not seeking help until it’s too late until issues can no longer be ignored can cause more long-term harm than I can remember. When you’re constantly bombarded with manicured images and the very best moments others experience, you can be left feeling empty, isolated and constantly overwhelmed.
